strength and yoga classes Scottsdale

Our mission is to create a welcoming space where mindful movement, community, and holistic wellness come together.

We help people move with intention, balance strength with stillness, and build a thriving collective.

Balance Studio is a non-heated yoga and fitness studio in Scottsdale, thoughtfully designed as a calm, elevated space for movement, strength, and restoration. With beginner-friendly classes, intentional sequencing, and a welcoming atmosphere, we believe movement should feel good, challenge you in the right ways, and meet you wherever you are.

At Balance Studio, we believe in the magic of moving together. There's something powerful about sharing space, connecting through movement, and taking time to simply be present. Beyond the mat, we're building a community of kind, joyful people who encourage one another, celebrate progress, and genuinely enjoy showing up for themselves and each other.

Some days call for the energy of a flowing Vinyasa class, connecting breath with movement. Others invite the perfect blend of strength and flexibility in Yogalates, or the empowering, full-body challenge of our signature ABC (Arms, Buns & Core) Sculpt class. And when life calls for a slower pace, there's Candlelight Slow Flow, restorative yoga, or the deeply relaxing experience of a sound bath. Whatever your mood, energy, or experience level, there's a place for you here.

From the moment you walk through our doors, you'll feel the difference. Warm, welcoming energy, a beautiful space that soothes the senses, and a little breathing room from the demands of everyday life.

Our Values

Community + Connection‍ ‍

We’re more than a studio - we’re a chosen family. Every person is greeted with kindness, compassion, and care. From the front desk to the last moment of savasana, we foster genuine connection and create a space where people feel welcomed and valued.

Wellness + Sustainability

Wellness here goes beyond movement. We nurture health, peace of mind, and purpose while making conscious sustainable choices for our community. From plant-based cleaning products to socially conscious retail and community thrift swaps, we care for our people and our planet.

Integrity + Care

We care deeply about our students, our space, and the experience we deliver every day. Classes start and end on time, our studio stays impeccably clean, and our team shows up ready, professional, and invested in offering thoughtful service on and off the mat.

Tradition + Consistency

We honor meaningful traditions that create rhythm and familiarity for our community. From opening rituals to signature closing practices and community events, these touchpoints offer grounding, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Teaching Philosophy

Our teachers are here to teach you. They stay present, observing the room, offering guidance, and ensuring cues are understood so every student feels seen and supported. While class styles stay true to their description, teachers are encouraged to bring creativity, knowledge, and their personal style to the mat.

Owner’s Story

Karen Clark is a yoga teacher, strength and fitness teacher, personal trainer, retreat leader, author, sound and energy healer who is passionate about helping others reconnect with themselves and rediscover their inner spark. A Canadian-American dual citizen, Karen’s journey into yoga began during a challenging chapter of her life, which  led her to seek peace on the mat. What started as a personal practice soon grew into a calling to teach and share the healing power of movement and mindfulness with others.

After years in the interior design industry, Karen made a life-changing shift to yoga and wellness. In 2021, she followed an intuitive pull away from her home in California to Scottsdale, Arizona, embracing a new beginning. That same year, she published her first book, Soul Fire: A Guide for Getting to Know Yourself and Living Your Happiest Life, offering readers a heartfelt guide to personal growth and self-discovery.

Today, Karen leads local and international yoga and wellness retreats in destinations like Sedona, Bali, Palm Springs, Temecula, Lake Arrowhead and Joshua Tree. She also offers energy healing sessions, incorporating Reiki, tuning forks, and sound therapy. Through her work, Karen creates welcoming, supportive spaces that allow us to slow down, tune in, and reignite their soul fire.
